Hello and welcome to the St. Andrew''s Episcopal Church''s Website. We are a community church located in Fort Thomas, KY.

As St. Andrew’s starts our centennial celebration, we remember our roots. Over 100 years ago, Col. Cochran, Chaplain Springer of the U.S. Army and Reverend Robert Nelson of St. Paul’s started conducting afternoon services for Episcopalians stationed in Fort Thomas. In 1905 this gathering was admitted into the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington as an Unorganized mission. In 1908 the status was changed to an Organized Mission which again changed later that year to establish itself as a Regular Church known as St. Andrew’s.

In 1909, construction of St. Andrew’s begun and the first service was conducted in the building on September 18th,1910. As a church community we are reminded of many things. We are reminded of the determination it takes to accomplish great things. That St. Andrew’s was not started overnight, that the doors did not open on the first day to packed pews. That our history has made us who we are today, and that today we are a great Episcopal church supported by an unbelievable diocesan community.

All of us have great memories of our church experiences. We are reminded of the sad memories of those no longer with us and are lifted up by the joyous memories of new birth and new members that we have seen baptized and grow in their faith. To help remember our past and look towards our future, St. Andrew’s will be hosting a year-long celebration that culminates our 100 year anniversary.

This celebration began on September 20th, 2009 with a special Sunday service out of the 1892 Book of Common Prayer, the same service done when St. Andrew’s opened in 1910. We ended that service with fellowship and a grill out. During the next 12 months we will be celebrating our current and past committees and their members, specifically honoring those that have been a member of Christian Education, Acolytes, Lay Readers, Vestry, ECW, Music, Clergy, Chalice Bearers, and Outreach. We hope to celebrate, on occasion, services out of the 1559, 1662, 1789 and 1928 Book of Common Prayer. And lastly, we will be leaving our mark in history by planting a centennial tree and with the burial of a time capsule.

St. Andrew’s values the support of its Diocesan community and appreciate the support and encouragement of its members received over the past 100 years. We look forward to spending another 100 years of serving God and community.
